The experienced and expert engineering staff at Severud Associates is our most important asset. Therefore, we are proud to announce that Gerry Lourentzatos, Rebecca Milano, and Daniel M. Presburger have been named Associate. All three have demonstrated a deep commitment to their profession and the firm.

Associates

Gerry Lourentzatos joined Severud Associates as an engineer in 2018 and progressed to senior engineer early last year.  His work with parametric modeling, analysis, and optimization has facilitated multiple iterations of conceptual designs of high-rise office buildings.  Gerry’s recent projects include the John A. Paulson Center, a mix of residential, performing arts, and athletic facilities on the West Village campus of New York University and the new corporate headquarters for JPMorgan Chase at 270 Park Avenue, also in Manhattan.

Rebecca Milano has been with Severud Associates since 2017, when she started as an engineer; in 2021, she progressed to senior engineer.  Rebecca’s work overseeing construction of mega projects has made her particularly skilled in the alteration and renovation of existing structures, including historical systems.  She recently contributed analysis, design, and field engineering for the Moynihan Train Hall–James A. Farley Building Redevelopment and is currently the full-time on-site engineer at One Madison Avenue, both in Manhattan.

Daniel M. Presburger began his career as an engineer at Severud Associates in 2017 after graduating with degrees from Rutgers University, and soon progressed to senior engineer.  In addition to analyzing, designing, and detailing structures, Dan has spent significant time in the field.  His start-to-finish experience on such projects as the mid-rise residential building 278 Eighth Avenue and redevelopment of One Madison Avenue, both in New York City, has led to strong and productive relationships with all members of the owner, design, and construction teams.

These talented engineers, along with their colleagues, will keep Severud Associates at the forefront of the structural engineering profession, using best practices for safety, innovation, and economy in their designs and providing engaged service to clients.
